My Background
I fell in love with photography by listening to a late great friend in the early 80s, he had me as someone who would listen to him just for the sake of it, but I was in fact absorbing all that precious knowledge and passion for something so special. I see in one of my favorite Neal Peart's lyrics a description of photography;"Time stand still, I'm not looking back, but I want to look around me now, time stand still, see more of the people and the places that surround me now.
Photography as Communication
There's beauty everywhere and in everyone, and like Roger Waters states in one of his lyrics " In transit camps, under arc lamps
On unloading ramps
In faces blurred by rubber stamps
I recognize...
Myself in every stranger's eyes"
Sharing Stories
One of the things which makes me love photography is that the best shots are taken at odd times and places, it brings you to the kind of isolation each one of us need every now and then, just to find our own selves, like a piper at the gates of dawn.
